Fumi Kosaka was born and raised in Japan and studied illustration at Brigham Young University.  Upon earning her BFA she moved to New York City, where she worked in the Design Department of HarperCollins Children’s Books while engaging in freelance illustration projects on the side. She has illustrated many books for children including If You’ll Be My Valentine by Cynthia Rylant and Under My Hood I Have a Hat by Karla Kuskin. 

After an extended break to raise and nurture her children, she has recently returned to the field. She lives in Provo, Utah with her husband and two children.
